Thank you for your interest in working in the 2020 General Election for the Electoral Commission. We have received a fantastic response and have enough applications to fill our roles in many areas. We are still looking for people in the following electorates:

  • Whangārei
  • Kaipara ki Mahurangi
  • Coromandel
  • East Coast
  • Hamilton West
  • Taranaki-King Country
  • Tukituki
  • Rangitīkei
  • Wairarapa
  • Hutt South
  • West Coast-Tasman
  • Kaikōura
  • Waitaki
  • Taieri
  • Invercargill
  • Southland

If you’re not sure where these electorates are, you can view all electorates on this map. It would be preferable if you lived in the electorate, or nearby.

Please note: We have sufficient applications to fill roles in other electorates. If you apply for a role in an electorate not specified above, your application may not be considered now, but will be kept on file and may be considered if vacancies arise.

If you would like to apply for a role in these electorates, you will need to provide:

  • Your bank account and IRD details for payroll purposes. If you are not successful, this information will not be held.
  • Details of two referees, including a work referee if possible.
  • Previous relevant employment details if you did not work at the last election.
  • Previous experience working within your communities.

Please note that only Process Leader positions require you to submit a curriculum vitae and covering letter, all other roles do not require it. You will not be able to save your application as you progress. The application should take about fifteen minutes to complete.
